RETOS – 3GSol

EndeF is developing the project called: “3Gsol” to offer a real and profitable solution for generating electricity, heat and cold together using solar energy. This solution is based on the integration of hybrid solar panels with refrigeration machines.

Due to the combination of the electrical and thermal generation of the ECOMESH hybrid solar panels, they are presented as a promising solution in combination with heat pumps or absorption machines: radically increasing your COP in the first case, or decreasing excess problems summer heat in the second, or supporting the refrigeration sector; It faces a technological challenge when the F-Gas regulation comes into effect next year, the reduction of which will begin next year in 2018 with a 37% reduction.

Along to maximize the use of solar energy, we want to experiment with a pilot installation and obtain the most competitive solution of a solar trigeneration system to promote its use, first of all, in the market for the agri-food industry.

For the development of the project, EndeF, manufacturer of hybrid solar panels, wants to work with a research group with extensive experience in simulation of energy systems: the Numerical Fluid Dynamics Group (GFN) of the University of Zaragoza. The result will be a solar trigeneration system, with a proven pilot installation in a controlled environment, whose design is easily exportable to companies with high demands for heat, electricity and cold at low temperatures. In this way, Spain will continue to be at the forefront of solar energy technology and supporting the production of a product with a great international perspective.

This project is considered an investigation that achieves relevant advances as required by the Spanish Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation. In line with this strategy, energy and environmental sustainability is considered an element of solar trigeneration installations with a view to their integration in the industrial sector and, in particular, in the agri-food sector. Regarding the specific challenges proposed in the State R + D + I Program, this project contributes mainly to the R3 challenge of safe, efficient and clean energy, since it proposes the improvement of a hybrid solar panel and its integration in a system of trigeneration. However, it also contributes to the R5 challenge, since through the use and improvement of these systems, it is possible to increase the efficiency in the use of resources and act on climate change, by reducing the use of fossil fuels.
